Kirsty and Mike - Sneak Peek

Well, yesterday was another fantastic wedding with a lovely couple.

I was spoilt with a super couple, amazing details and a beautiful venue, not to mention the rain stayed away!

So here are a few pictures from the day, there are so many more to come!

Xanthe and Mike - Sneak Peek

Xanthe and Mike's wedding was in a magnificent church in the village of Steeple Ashton. I was really surprised to find such a large and impressive church in such a small village when I met them there for the rehearsal the day before.

On the big day I met Xanthe, her bridesmaids and family, who were getting ready in her parents house in another pretty little village. It was the sort of village you approach and the road is so small that there is grass growing up the middle of it.  I was greeted by a calm, well organised bride and super efficient bridesmaids, it seems to be a theme this year!

The ceremony was great and the reception was at the beautiful Beechfield House. Beechfield House offers an amazing location both inside and out in the grounds and with exclusive use of the whole place, we had a field day!

So here are a few pictures from the day:

Tina and Tom - Sneak Peek

It was a lovely day yesterday for Tina and Tom. I met Tina at her Mum's house early in the morning to cover the preparation and was greeted into a warm family home. This warm family vibe describes the whole day really, a huge Italian family wedding with all the sight, sounds and love that it brings.

I learn new things at every wedding I go to and this was no exception, tapping knives on glasses and plates does not call for speeches at an Italian reception, it means the couple have to stand and kiss, it took me a while to understand what was going on as I hurried back into the room more than once thinking the speeches were earlier than planned!

So, here are a few images from yesterday:

Katie and Phil - Sneak Peek

Yesterday I had the pleasure of traveling to Stratford-Upon-Avon to photograph Katie and Phil's wedding.

Katie and Phil had a lovely ceremony in Stratford's Methodist Church, with the ceremony also being blessed by the local Catholic Priest. This unusual ceremony made the day all the more special and set the tone for an amazing wedding.

The barn style reception at Wootton Park was beautiful.  It is a great venue and Katie and Phil's family and friends really brought it to life. Katie and Phil have a really great energy together and I think that in no small part this comes from those friends and family they surround themselves with.

After a delicious meal, which I was lucky enough to join them to enjoy, they went into the evening party. It was during the evening that Phil demonstrated his unique dance moves and love of music for many hours!

Anyway, here are a few pictures from a great day:

Sarah and Dave - Sneak Peek

Yesterday's wedding felt like it was on the hottest day of the year, I was absolutely melting. But when I met up with Sarah at the wonderful Four Pillars Hotel, all was completely calm.

Sarah and Dave had planned a lovely day with friends and family and it all ran really smoothly. The best man's speech even included 'Dave' masks, which seemed to go down a storm!

So here are a few pictures from the day:

Zoe and Bryan - Sneak Peek

When I met Zoe at the barn where she was getting ready, I was greeted by the calmest environment, no chaos, no rushing around and that really set the tone for the day ahead.

Zoe and Bryan got married in Kintbury Church and had a lovely barn style reception at a private venue.

Again with this wedding I was spoilt with loads of lovely details to photograph and lots of fun things happening throughout the day.

The evening entertainment was supplied by a band called 'Rough Diamonds' , if you ever get a chance to check them out I throughly recommend it, they really were fun!

So here are a few pictures from the day:

Carly and Phil - Sneak Peek

I have been really lucky this year with a number of weddings I have had the privilege to photograph which have included so many handmade components. Carly and Phil's wedding was amazingly detailed. They had roped the whole family into working on all the little touches at this DIY wedding!

There was so much detail to capture, which makes it my favourite type of wedding as you can see the love and effort that everyone has contributed to the day and capture these moments to always look back on.

Sarah and Ross - Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek at yesterday's wedding at Hyde Barn in Stow-on-the-Wold.

Sarah and Ross had been planning this fete-themed wedding for two and a half years. There were endless details to capture and not just one cake to cut but 15, following the fete theme by having a cake stall!

The weather in the morning was torrential rain but we were super lucky and as soon as the ceremony finished the clouds disappeared allowing us to do the photographs outside rather than inside, as we had planned. The rain started again as soon as everyone was seated for the meal, so perfect timing!

Here are just a few pictures from the day.

Katie and Steve - Sneak Peek

I really wanted to get this quick preview up for Katie and Steve before they leave for their Disneymoon tomorrow so I have torn myself away from bank holiday decorating to do a quick blog!

Katie and Steve, well Katie mostly, had put a massive effort into the day and there were many handmade elements making it a really personal wedding. They were also blessed with the sunshine on a bank holiday weekend, almost unheard of.

So here are a few images from there day:

Donna and Antony - Sneak Peek

Well we were lucky with the weather for this Easter wedding, rain the day before and after but a beautiful day when it mattered

Donna and Antony were married at the popular Four Pillars hotel overlooking the lake and on a day like this, the views were gorgeous.

The day went almost without a hitch. I say almost because their beautiful bespoke wedding cake never made it. The cake maker dropped it loading it into the van on the morning of the wedding! Both Donna and Antony took it in their stride, because they are just cool like that!

Anyway, here are a couple of shots from the day.

Clare and Tony - Sneak Peek!

Well what can I say about this weekend's wedding between Clare and Tony? A ceremony on the SS Great Britain, helicopter transfer to Lydiard Park for the reception and the only 7 tier cake made of cheese I have ever seen. Oh and enough sweets to keep a room full of adults hyper active until Christmas!

When Clare contacted me about photographing the wedding it all sounded very nice and we spoke back and forth about various details and then she just casually drops into the conversation that they would be a getting a helicopter transfer and I would get to fly with them! Well it would be rude to say no!

They day went smoothly and the people who run the events on the SS Great Britain are really super. Bob especially is a legend and a very funny guy.

The flight in the helicopter was a first for me and to have a chance to fly as part of my job and with such a great couple well, all I can say was it was a tough day at the office!

Anyway, here are a few pictures as a sneak peek.

Photo / Video Wedding Fusion

I have had an idea for a while to take advantage of the HD video that the cameras I use are capable of shooting. I'm not interested in shooting video and being a cinematographer but I like the idea of adding little snipits of film to compliment and go along side my photography.

After much practice on personal projects I decided to integrate it into a wedding I had booked this month.

The results were much better than I could have hoped for and the bride was so happy when she saw it, so all the extra effort was defiantly worth it!

Anyway, here is the video, it is my intention to now produce these fusion video pieces at every all day wedding (options 2 and 3 here)

Hope everyone likes it!

Sarah & Nikki - Sneak Peek!

Sarah and Nikki were married at Westonbirt Arboretum and had their reception at the Cotswold Water Park Four Pillars Hotel. They had amazing vintage VW busses as wedding cars and Nikki was lucky enough to be chauffeured in a Maserati GranCabrio!

So much of the detail in the wedding had been made by family, my Mum made the cake and did all of the flowers, my Nan grew the favours and Nikki's sister Carla made beautiful cupcakes as well as many details I am sure I am missing so I had to photograph it, you know, keep it in the family! :D

So here is a sneak peek at the pictures:

David & John - Sneak Peek!

This Saturday I had the opportunity to photograph my first civil partnership and it was fantastic.

When I met David and John I said to them "I have to be honest, I have never photographed a civil partnership" and they said "that's ok, we have never been to one!" Well, now we can all say we have!

The ceremony was really beautiful and the wording was really nice, if anything the wording is more romantic in civil weddings as the actual ceremony does not contain any legal wording so the message of love is much stronger.
